Here is the update for the erotic show – this email will also be put online in case you delete it by accident or need to go back to the information.
Please READ all the info before you send me an email with questions.
If there are any additional questions, I will be posting them and answering them on the webpage, so you don’t keep getting emails. So please check there.
Catalog
The book proof is being ordered. The image you see here, is the cover, with the photo by artist Kai Eckhardt. There are a few artists who I have requests out to send me a bio. No bio from you means no text in the catalog. A bio is about you not about your art. It is not about what you are working in, or where you are going – that’s all art stuff. I don’t want that. I want about you. Your personality, your background, what you are involved in. If it’s art groups or cultural groups that is great too, but not ALL about that, you see?
The goal of the bio is to give some depth to the personality behind the artwork.
If you want to revisit what you have already sent me, you can do that. Send it to me by March 20. The idea behind the catalog is to give a lasting highlight of you and your work, right?
Make sure you have sent me a headshot – a picture of you – if I haven’t received anything, I can’t include it.
There are two people who have indicated they do NOT wish to be in the catalog, that is certainly no worries. Dan (sculptor) and Kendi, that is you. If you wish to change that, this is your last chance. Send me a note by March 20.
Artists Meet and Greet
Are you interested in an Artists Meet and Greet? Some feedback I have received is no, you are not. If you are interested, you MUST respond to this email by March 20. Lack of response regarding this matter will indicate to me that you are not interested, and I will cancel it. Currently it is booked for May 24, 5-630 pm.
Opening Night & Awards
Friday May 25, 7-9 pm at Ex Nihilo Vineyards 1525 Camp Road Lake Country BC. It is located right across the street from Arrowleaf Winery.
This year is different in that it will be a ticketed event. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. I have 300 tickets only. With the ticket, $5 goes to charity (currently it is Cancer Society, but am thinking of changing it to a woman focused charity – they must be registered – if you have ideas, send me a note), $5 goes to the winery to cover a glass of wine, and $5 to me to help offset costs.
Each artist will have a maximum of 5 tickets reserved in their name. If you do not need 5 tickets, let me know, so I can release them for general sale.
Everyone will be paying the $15 to go to Opening Night. Volunteers for Opening Night will receive their ticket free, as an additional thank you for helping out. If you want a friend to stand in as your volunteer, they will receive a pass to get in, and you will require a ticket.
Once I have the schedule set up of how many people for each job, I will send out another email.
There are two awards this year, each are $250 cash. One is the Juror’s Choice and the other is People’s Choice. Juror’s Choice will be posted at the beginning of Opening Night, and People’s Choice will be decided and announced at 830 pm on Opening Night.
Consider dressing up for Opening Night, it really is a lot of fun!!
Some people have asked me when I am leaving for the month residency in Italy, it is May 27 I fly out in the morning
